A calmer waiting room, one queue at a time
A diagnostics service replaced a crowded corridor with virtual queues and connected journeys, so patients knew what was next and staff could see flow forming.
Where the day kept breaking
Patients arrived for blood tests, imaging and pharmacy through the same corridor, with no idea how long each step would take. Names were called across a crowded room, people missed their turn, and staff could not tell whether a delay was forming until it was already a queue out of the door.
How LivQ was introduced
Patients joined queues by QR code, kiosk or reception and were free to wait where they were comfortable.
Multi-step visits were modelled as a single journey — registration, test, imaging, pharmacy — with clear directions between stations.
Managers watched flow live and rebalanced rooms and staff as pressure appeared.
A different kind of day
- The corridor emptied out; patients waited nearby, informed, and returned when called.
- Missed turns became rare because people could see their position and got notified in time.
- Flow data revealed where time was really lost, giving the service evidence for redesigning the visit.
“The strangest part was the silence. No shouting names — just people arriving when it was actually their turn.”
